MetaTeam Decisions App
The MetaTeam Decisions app facilitates decision making by lending structure and transparency to the process. Structured decision making is more efficient, more inclusive, and generates more sustainable outcomes.
Group decision making can be challenging, particularly for distributed teams.
Communication channels must remain open, alternatives and their impact must be clearly articulated, and there is often more than one issue that must be addressed simultaneously.
The MetaTeam Decisions app helps you meet these challenges by making it easier and faster to come to an agreement. The Decisions app helps your team classify, prioritize, collaborate on, and ultimately make decisions that support project goals and objectives.
MetaTeam is flexible and can address the needs of teams who want more structured decision making support as well as those seeking less.
Related decisions are organized under user-defined groups. In addition to assigning an individual to manage the decision, the decision type (e.g., consensus, majority rule, leader-decided) can be selected from a pre-populated list.
Each decision has its own deadlines, voting rules, ranking questionnaire, associated tasks, threaded discussions and more. You need only use the features relevant to a particular decision.
This structure helps reduce conflict among team members – when it is clear how decisions will be made and who is ultimately responsible for them, the decision making process is far smoother and more productive.
It’s difficult to come to a sustainable decision if the alternatives haven’t been clearly identified.
Teams can use the MetaTeam Decisions app to define alternatives and then make them available to everyone on your team. Threaded discussions at both the group and individual decision levels help keep exchanges about the big picture separate from those about specific decisions.
The Decisions app helps keep discussions on track because the alternatives are clearly defined and available to the entire team.
The decision making process is likewise more efficient because information necessary for making that decision can be associated with it through links to the Knowledge Base, threaded discussions, and issue-specific to-do lists.
One of the challenges inherent in any project is prioritizing among competing decisions, some of which will have more impact on the outcome of a project than others.
The Decisions app helps you address which decisions should be made first by automatically calculating a ranking score based on your answers to four simple questions – you can indicate that a decision has additional urgency by assigning a priority level to increase the ranking score.
Some decisions are made based on majority rule.
MetaTeam also offers a simple voting mechanism where, if enabled, team members can vote for or against a particular decision. The voting tab can be configured by decision for an open vote, where all votes are visible, or closed, where they are not.
MetaTeam is designed to facilitate collaboration.
Decision-specific, threaded discussions focus the exchange of information and opinions and help ensure that they remain relevant to the alternative being discussed.
Integrated Apps Promote Transparency and Collaboration
MetaTeam apps address virtually all aspects of project management – your team can choose the apps necessary to support your project.
It’s easy to link between supporting materials within the apps so that each team member can both contribute and locate project-specific information.
In addition, timely e-mail notifications when changes are made in the Decisions or other app create a more collaborative environment and help keep team members informed so projects progress smoothly.
